Kings Island in Mason, Ohio, is a 364-acre amusement park that opened on April 29, 1972. Its sister park is Kings Dominion in Virginia.

Soak City is Kings Island’s water park. It opened in 1989 and is included in the admission price.

Travel Tips

  • Kings Island is located between Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio. If you don’t have a car, be prepared to rent one or pay for an expensive ride-share.

  • If the park isn’t too busy or you buy Fast Lane, a single day at the park should give you plenty of time.

  • Adventure Express is a highly themed mine train coaster in the new-for-2023 Adventure Port area of the park.

  • Banshee is a B&M inverted coaster with seven inversions.

  • The Beast is perhaps the most famous wooden coaster in the world. When the coaster debuted in 1979, it was the world’s tallest, longest, and fastest wooden coaster.

  • The Eiffel Tower is a 1/3rd-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, and it’s an exact duplicate of the Eiffel Tower at Kings Dominion.

  • Flight of Fear is a Premier Rides enclosed steel coaster. It’s identical to the coaster of the same name at Kings Dominion.

  • Mystic Timbers is a Great Coaster International wooden coaster that opened in 2017.

  • Orion is a B&M Hyper Coaster that opened in 2020. It has a 300-foot drop and reaches a speed of 91 mph.
